Have Your Cake and Eat it Too: How to Have a Successful Business and High Quality Life

Have Your CakeAt WIC’s General Meeting on January 16th, Bobbie LaPorte, Leadership and Career Coach at RAL & Associates, presented “Have Your Cake and Eat it Too: How to Have a Successful Business and High Quality Life”.

I really enjoyed hearing Bobbie’s insights.  Balancing work and personal life is an issue I can always learn more about, as this is an ongoing work in progress for me!  How about you?

One of the biggest nuggets I learned from Bobbie was “You can have it all.  Just not all at the same time.”  Her suggestion is to prioritize each day and day’s activities, and to remember to prioritize health and exercise.

Another nugget was to be clear and understand your values and use those to guide your priorities.

A third point was to focus on one thing 100% of time.  Do it right and move on to the next thing.

A quick summary of Bobbie’s Keys to Success:

  • Be clear on what matters to you most
  • Exercise is the big lever
  • Manage your energy
  • Build your success team
  • Be Resilient

I’ll post quick summaries of each of these tips in future blog posts.  I would love to hear how you are putting Bobbie’s insights into action, and what results you’re seeing.
