I admit it; I am not a person to embrace change.  My comfort zone is comfortable.  QuickBooks Online was just difficult.  You could not work as quickly, things were hard to find, it was not forgiving, and it just made me frustrated and inefficient!  Things are looking up since they updated the interface.  I am actually recommending it and doing my best to persuade some desktop users to change.

These are the 10 Things I Love about the new QuickBooks Online:

  1. Faster, easier to work and find related workflow. Menus have been reduced so less navigating through pull downs and tabs to find what you are looking for.
  2. You can “delete” accounts that you are no longer using, but see them again easily by clicking the “inactive” box on the Chart of Accounts page.
  3. You can bookmark specific pages in your browser to reduce the amount of clicks.
  4. It works on your mobile devices! You can invoice customers’ real time as you are working with them!
  5. You can see the latest action with a customer, it shows you the status of an invoice (created, sent, open), and what the next recommended action would be (receive payment, send a reminder, etc.)  This works the same on the vendor center page.
  6. Your banking page shows the matching transactions boldly with a green icon, which is less confusing when you match transactions rather than add them.
  7. You can now match downloaded transactions to open bills, not just bill payments and expenses.
  8. If you have scrolled down a customer/vendor list and go to another page, it remembers where you were when you come back.
  9. There are intuitive action buttons.  When you select an option, the button at the end of the row matches it.
  10. Haven’t been using QB online? No outside remote access required! You can have multiple users and give your bookkeeper or accountant access to your file.  You can collaborate on documents, anytime, and on any device.  Say goodbye to logmein, remote desktop etc.

Once again, Renee via WIC has provided excellent advice. And this time it was exactly when I needed it! Thank you, Renee. I signed up for QB Symphony last night. And thank you WIC for giving me so much value in my membership.
